Click the column letter to the RIGHT of the last column you want to freeze.
Excel freezes everything left of your selection. To keep column A visible, select column B.
Steps in text
- Click the column letter to the RIGHT of the last column you want to freeze.
- Click the View tab.
- Click Freeze Panes.
- Choose Freeze Panes.
- Scroll sideways — the columns left of your selection stay put.
- Done — column A stays visible however far right you scroll.
